The 19th Mott Marathon saw 41 runners step to the line with 37 completing the full distance. The marathon's theme "Full Circle" marked the return of support for the first marathon's charity, the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. In addition, the marathon continued its support of the local Christopher Newton Foundation, and for the first time, added a walk to support Anna's Sunshine Warriors on Saturday.
The weather cooperated throughout the day with hazy sun and moderate temperatures. The infield was filled with supporters and their pop-ups, folding chairs, and coolers. As fatigue started setting in, families and friends stepped onto the track to run or walk laps with struggling marathoners. Off the track, the Elks gave away hotdogs and water. Ms. Kelly and Mrs. LaBella ran the concession stand. Craft vendors filled the gym.
Anthony Joyce was the overall winner. Grace Lally finished fifth as the top female finisher. Fourth place finisher Nolan Tutty completed the marathon distance, then stayed on the track, churning out 32.2 miles as he encouraged other runners. See below for a full list of finishers.
