New York Energy Zone is offering two STEM workshop for students 9-years-old and older over winter break.

“Watt's Energy Efficiency?”!

  • What: Learn electricity basics and energy efficiency.
  • Hands-On Activity: Build your own dark-detecting circuit.
  • Why: Understand how electricity powers lights, appliances, and devices.
  • Explore: Discover how NYPA generates electricity from various sources and its role in New York State.
  • Learn: Identify the use of electricity at home, at school, and in the community.
  • Save Energy: Understand the importance of energy conservation and practical tips for avoiding waste.
  • Careers: Explore careers related to electricity and energy efficiency.
  • Monday, Feb. 16 Ages 9 - 12
    Tuesday, Feb. 17 Ages 13+
Robotics and Drones
  • Join the NYPA Robotics Team to learn about Robotics and Drones.
  • What: Learn how NYPA uses robotics to help with operations with a Skydio Experience.
  • Hands-On Activity: Fly a drone with the robotics team
  • Innovate: Meet “Gizmo,” our innovative robotic dog
  • Wednesday, Feb. 18 Ages 9 - 12
