Central Valley Youth Basketball sign-ups on Oct. 1 & Oct. 3

Open to boys and girls in grades 1-6
Register: At the Ilion Elks Club:
  • Thursday, Oct. 1: — 6 - 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct, 3: — 10 a.m. - noon
Things to know
  • Cost:  $50 per player, or $75 per family due at sign-up (checks or cash accepted)
  • Volunteer coaches are needed.
  • Players will play at their grade levels.
  • Please know your child's shirt size when signing up.

Upcoming events

CV Foundation Turkey Trot

It's time for the Annual CV Foundation Turkey Trot. Proceeds fund the Foundation's efforts to support teachers and students in ways not covered by the regular school budget.
Group: CV Foundation
Event details: Family-friendly event features 
Kids fun-runs
  • 1/4-mile for ages 4-6
  • 1/2-mile for ages 7-8
  • 3/4-mile for ages 9-10
  • Mile for ages 11-12. 
Adults (ages 13 and up)
  • 2-mile walk
  • 5K race
The race will be chip-timed by Clark Sports Center. Age group prizes include a 15-20 lb. turkey. Children participating in the fun runs will receive a complimentary T-shirt.
Date/Time: Sat., Nov. 14 Kids start at 8 a.m.; adults at 9 a.m.
Location: Mohawk Wetland Park
Cost (including a t-shirt): Kids - Free; Adults 5K and 2-mile walk - $20
Special Commemorative t-shirt: Additional $10

Connected Community Schools Trunk or Treat

Event details: Central Valley families are invited to Connected Community Schools' 4th Annual Trunk or Treat. So put on your costume and enjoy treats given out by our school groups and community partners!

Special Ed Basics for families

Connected Community Schools and Colby Thall of FACE (Family and Community Education) Program present a six-session workshop series designed to give families the information and tools they need to better understand and support their child's educational journey.

  • Understanding IEPs and 504 Plans
  • Navigating your child's educational needs
  • Understanding and monitoring progress
  • Advocating for your child
  • Navigating the transition from primary to secondary education
  • Preparing for life after high school for students with special needs
